Dialogue makes Culture21. 2. 2020
The candidature for the European Capital of Culture Ljubljana 2025 is based on dialogue, which was also confirmed by the public discussion held on February 20 at a renown venue in Ljubljana's Šiška district.
On February 20, Ljubljana’s bid team for ECoC 2025 offered the many representatives of NGOs gathered at a public panel at Kino Šiška to continue pursuing structured dialogue on the pressing issue of the provision of suitable production premises for artists. This is one of Ljubljana’s priorities, as the city already provides a total of 17,000 m2 of spaces to 249 NGOs and individuals.
However, we are aware of the fact brought to the fore at the public discussion: that the spatial demands of creative types in Ljubljana are high – not just at the moment, but also in the sense of opening doors for future artists and in the sense of intergenerational solidarity. In our ECoC bid, we’re thus implementing new practices based on a desire for joint decision-making with regard to certain aspects of investments currently in their initial development stages: Šiška HUB and the Baraga Seminary. Anybody with a need, a vision or an idea for creative spaces, please tell us about the content that could become part of future programmes of Šiška HUB and the Baraga Seminary.
